Whilst Melins Metall Ab Sweden is aware of the environmental impact of production, it also addresses the needs and expectations of the local population and supports all human rights and freedoms guaranteed by international and Sweden laws. This approach has been used as a framework for Melin’s sustainable development and corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy. Compliance with this approach is not only important for the Company’s reputation; it also constitutes a competitive advantage for Melins as one of the first Sweden companies to use CSR guidelines as the foundation for its strategy and all ongoing projects.
Melins is always putting projects in place to protect the environment and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, support the development of cities where it operates, and improve the quality of life for the local population. The Company has established equal and decent working conditions for all employees, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religion, and political views. All employees are guaranteed social and economic rights such as paid leave, maternity leave, education, medical care, health and labor protection, ethical treatment, etc.
While working openly and transparently, the Company reports regularly on its activities and annually publishes its non-financial statements by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, the UN Global Compact principles, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Melins Metall Ab Sweden pays special attention to environmental issues, so in its activities, it seeks to minimize the impact on the environment; the Company is a participant and initiator of international and Sweden climate protection initiatives and global and regional environmental projects. In 2011, Melins adopted its corporate Environmental Policy, which defined the key operating principles and main development areas for the Company’s [ESG/sustainability] strategy.

In the countries and regions of its presence, Melins Metall Ab strictly observes the requirements and rules of local laws.
Since our establishment, Melins Metall Ab Sweden’s priority in its presence has been to improve people’s quality of life and support public initiatives and local communities. The Company finances the project to strengthen the social structure and develop urban infrastructure, support socially vulnerable groups of people, develop sports and a healthy lifestyle, volunteer for social groups, and provide education and healthcare for the people of the communities we operate in.
Health, industrial, and fire safety, and providing high-quality medical services to employees are the basis for the stable operation of any production.
The Company takes care of the health of its employees and prevents occupational and production-related illnesses. Specialists of the Melins Medical Centre (MMC) provide highly skilled treatment, preventive and emergency medical aid to Melin’s employees, and carry out regular medical examinations. In Sweden, the MMC has got 14 healthcare centers, which are in nine regions of the Company’s presence and serve more than 45,000 people. In nine of the branches, the Centre provides medical services not only to Company employees but also to local residents.
